 Project Coordinator - Buildings       Maple Reinders is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract for the construction of the Royal BC Museum Collections and Research Building in Colwood, (Victoria) BC. The new facility will be an advanced, sustainable, and culturally sensitive building that will serve as a community and learning hub for the region. Once complete, the new facility will house the Royal BC Museum's collections, research departments, learning spaces and the BC Archives. Mass timber construction will be used extensively and the building will meet CleanBC energy efficiency standards, and be LEED Gold Certified.    As a Project Coordinator in our Buildings division, you will have the opportunity to support our Project Managers in the delivery of our exciting Industrial, Commercial and Institutional building projects. The focus of your role will be to maintain contract documentation, support estimating and assisting with the preparation of budgets and schedules. We work on a variety of types of contracts such as Design Build, Plan and Spec and Construction Management and you would gain experience on all of these.   The purpose of the Coordinator in supporting the Project Manager is to ensure that a profit is made on the project, that the work is performed as per the contract documents, that the project is completed with outstanding quality, and that the jobsite is a safe workplace.   In doing so, you will be involved in:   - Assisting in preparing budgets and construction schedules, setting up project administration files - With direction from the Project Manager, initiating and maintaining correspondence with Owner, Architect, Engineers, sub-trades and suppliers - Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations - Assisting with and/or clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers - Developing successful relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors, and developers - Ensuring there is a continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our Corporate Health and Safety Policy - Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies - Closing tenders in consultation with senior managers   At Maple we are looking for individuals who have the skills and desire to take on the role of Project Coordinator, but have the drive to become a Project Manager.   To be considered for this role you will have:   - Minimum 2 years or more experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry. - A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.   Benefits (Full-Time Salary):   - Competitive Salaries - Weekly Pay - Group Health Insurance Plan (Extended Medical, Dental & Health Care Spending Account) - Registered Retirement Savings Plan (Employer Matching) - Regular Performance Reviews & Yearly Salary Review - Life Insurance and LTD Group Insurance - Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Coverage - Discretionary Bonuses & Profit Sharing - Reward System (Maple Points) - Discount Programs & Memberships - Employee Assistance Program - Growth Opportunities - On-Site Parking Salary range: $70k - $90k annually   We want you to succeed and we are prepared to get you there by investing in you. Scheduler (ICI Construction)         Maple Reinders is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract for the construction of the Royal BC Museum Collections and Research Building in Colwood, (Victoria) BC. We are seeking a Scheduler to support the construction of this project. The new facility will be an advanced, sustainable, and culturally sensitive building that will serve as a community and learning hub for the region. Mass timber construction will be used extensively and the building will meet CleanBC energy efficiency standards, and be LEED Gold Certified.     Using your expertise in construction as a Scheduler, your first challenge at Maple Reinders will be to review current practices and processes and prepare a strategic plan to improve the existing system of planning and scheduling for our ICI construction projects. Additionally you will be responsible to ensure that project teams are in compliance with the system and utilizing the established procedures aimed at reducing risk and improving project quality.       This role will: - Develop and maintain consistent and realistic schedules for projects. - Develop the activities, logic, resource loading and progress to provide a fully integrated project schedule, leading to the creation of the baseline schedule and its subsequent maintenance throughout all phases of projects (submittals, approvals, procurement, construction, testing, start-up and commissioning). - Develop cash flows and resource loaded schedules, based on project estimates and master schedule. - Interface/maintain liaison with project management, owner, subcontractors, etc. on all planning and scheduling related items and functions including reporting requirements, progress status, new impacts, etc. - Support the Project Management Team in maintaining timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems.   Candidates qualified for this role must have: - A minimum of 2 years of previous scheduling experience. - Advanced knowledge of schedule software/core standards including previous experience using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. - A comprehensive understanding of construction logic, procurement sequences, fabrication shop load requirements and construction techniques. - A Degree in Project/Construction Management or Engineering, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. - Previous construction experience on ICI/Buildings projects.     Benefits (Full-Time Salary):   - Competitive Salaries - Weekly Pay - Group Health Insurance Plan (Extended Medical, Dental & Health Care Spending Account) - Registered Retirement Savings Plan (Employer Matching) - Regular Performance Reviews & Yearly Salary Review - Life Insurance and LTD Group Insurance - Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Coverage - Discretionary Bonuses & Profit Sharing - Reward System (Maple Points) - Discount Programs & Memberships - Employee Assistance Program - Growth Opportunities Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000   Thank you for your interest in a career with Maple Reinders.
