Finishing Superintendent - ICI Construction

 

Maple Reinders Constructors is currently looking for an experienced Finishing Superintendent to join our team in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for a construction project at Algoma University. The successful candidate will join our buildings division where we focus on ICI construction.

 

 

As a Finishing Superintendent, your responsibilities will encompass:

 

  • Directing and coordinating field operations to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, safety protocols, and risk management strategies.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to our field teams, fostering effective communication channels between on-site personnel and project team.
  • Crafting and executing comprehensive project work plans aimed at maintaining project timelines and financial objectives.
  • Serving as a senior-level presence on-site, offering support in issue resolution, labor management, and succession planning.

 

Our Superintendent will oversee projects that vary in size and scope and the successful candidate should have previous experience in leading construction teams, trades and hourly employees. We would require the Superintendent to travel or stay close to the site; flexibility is a must.

 

 

We are also focused on candidates who currently have:

  • Five or more years of progressive experience in supervising construction projects, with a focus on finishing stages.
  • A strong educational background, preferably with post-secondary qualifications or equivalent certifications (e.g., CET).
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant computer applications, essential for effective project management.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing complex projects exceeding $40 million in value.
