Marketing and Communications Specialist (6 Month Contract) 

 

Maple Reinders is currently searching for a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our team in the Mississauga office on a 6-month contract. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, must possess writing, editing and proofreading skills, graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite) skills and strong knowledge of PowerPoint. The individual in this position will be responsible for constructing, editing and proofing various advertising and communications elements. This role will fall under a hybrid work environment with 3 days per week (minimum) in the office.


 As a Marketing & Communications Specialist, you will be:

  • Supporting go-to-market objectives through strategic and tactical development of marketing copy, content, and internal and external communications.
  • Participating in the creation of clear copy for: marketing materials, ads, press releases, website and intranet content, newsletters, articles, internal announcements, info sheets, social media, and other communication pieces.
  • Layout, copy creation and proofing internal newsletter and other communications (posters, flyer's).
  • Writing and editing award submissions.
  • Strong knowledge of social media, working with our outside agency, providing content and information for monthly content calendar, and proofing posts prior to release. Monitoring branded online content for appropriateness, quality, and appearance.
  • Working with the Director as appropriate to develop and implement marketing and communications plans to support firm strategic objectives and engage both internal and external audiences.
  • Working with stakeholders across the company to pro-actively identify and pitch ideas for thought leadership content
  • Ensuring that the brand voice and language of content are consistent, overall tone and quality are appropriate and the brand language and position are reflected.
  • Defining and maintaining overall adherence to the brand/style guidelines.

 

As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:

  • 5 or more years of related experience, ideally with some experience with the construction industry or a related field, or other position in which strong and varied writing skills are required.
  • A completed degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Commerce preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of social media strategies and tactics and how to apply them.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading (quality control) skills.
  • High level of organizational awareness and proven ability to work in a high-performing, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team.
  • Exceptional project management and time management skills.
